Tourist places in Whistler

Whistler is a popular snow-skiing tourist destination near Vancouver. It will also host most of the ski events for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Enjoy Whistler attractions during your stay and explore the culture of the city.

Some of the Whistler Attractions:
• Whistler Day Trips: Enjoy a full day of sightseeing and shopping as you travel to Vancouver. The highlights of Vancouver are Lions Gate Bridge ; Stanley Park ; English Bay ; Chinatown ; Gastown Canada Place cruise ship terminal; Vancouver 's commercial harbour; Robson Street shopping area.

• Whistler Lakes: Enjoy fishing at Alpha Lake. You can also play tennis, volleyball or swimming in the lake. Come for skiing in winter at the Lost Lake, however if you happened to be here during summer relax by swimming.

• Whistler Museums: At the Whistler Museum and Archives, one can see exhibits on ski history and artifacts dating back to the 1850s.

• Whistler Olympics: Whistler is the venue for winter Olympics starting on February 12th and continue until February 28 and will be hosting all the skiing events, bobsleigh, luge and skeleton.

• Whistler Parks: Come and spend some quiet time with your loved ones in Whistler Parks. They are Rainbow Park, Meadow Park, Village Park, Millars Park, Peace Park, Lakeside Park, Green Lake Park, Garibaldi Provincial Park, Brandywine Falls Provincial Park and Nairn Falls Provincial Park.

• Whistler Spas: Whistler is a good relaxation destination with so many spas and wellness centres.

• Whistler Wildlife: You will get to see wild animals as the rainforest around Whistler is a habitat for bears, cougars and deer. Bald Eagles spend the winter on the Squamish, Mamquam and Cheakamus Rivers.
